Jiro Ono – ~$9 million
Jiro Ono is now 93 years old and has been in retirement for many years now, but his past accomplishments remain notable to this day. Born in 1925, he is still regarded as the greatest sushi craftsman of all time and has been credited with inventing innovative techniques in sushi preparation. His training started at the early age of 7 when he started working at a sushi restaurant. After several years as an apprentice, he opened his own restaurant in 1965. His famed Sukiyabashi Jiro in Ginzo enjoys a 3-Michelin star rating to this day.
